I’ve been adopting strangers I find in antique and op-shops….

My first adoptee is this adorable swimming suit lady.

Look at those bathers! and those little shoes. I wonder what beach she is at. What is her name…

In the same batch of old nitrate negatives I found these ladies:

Are they related to the swimming lady? Where are they? I wonder if they enjoyed their ‘frolick’ in the snow?

I am fascinated by who these people might have been, what the stories are behind the pics… perhaps I will make up my own stories to go with them.

More strangers to follow 🙂

A good friend of mine has been growing her hair for many years, in order to donate it to charity. For 2 years now, we’ve been talking about shooting some portraits of her, and she wanted to do it before she got all that long, golden hair cut off.

Well, we finally got ourselves organised and used the holiday period, while she was in town, and we had unlimited daylight hours at our disposal, to do it!

We trekked out to Bungendore on a worryingly overcast afternoon, to a friend’s farm, where we coaxed the lovely, gentle giant, ‘Sir’ Galahad to model for us. The sun broke just in time and gave us a good 2 hours of light before setting below the golden hills.

These are just some of my favourites from the day….

I’ve been waiting days to put this up, but wanted to wait until the couple had seen their pics first.

Ryan and Lauren were nice enough to let me use them for my first ever couples shoot. Whadya reckon? are these two cute or what?

these are my loves….

and i know it’s daggy to photograph your pets, but they’re so gosh-darn cute! They might just become regular models.

Why haven’t I done this sooner!? Learning from another photographer, one on one, has got to be THE best way to learn. We ‘arty’ types tend to work in seclusion most of the time, ruminating on ideas, shooting alone, in the dark…. oh, that’s just me.

I had the pleasure of doing a mentor session with a very talented children’s and couples photographer, Christine Pobke, on the weekend. We shot some very cute, but not so co-operative kids.

Not so sure about shooting children all the time, but I’ve definitely picked up the portrait bug. You may just start to see some more ‘faces’ around here from now on.

I took some maternity photos of my sister, who had her bub on the 11th Feb.

It is her first and the first grandchild in the family, so it is very exciting for all.

She had a little girl!
